JACKSON ENERGY AUTHORITY SELECTS VIRYANET SERVICE HUB TO MANAGE ITS FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIANS; VIRYANET CONTINUES ITS PENETRATION INTO THE UTILITIES MARKET SECTOR

Southborough, Mass. - May 4, 2004 - ViryaNet (NasdaqSC: VRYA), a leading provider of integrated mobile and Web-based software applications for workforce management and the automation of field service delivery, today announced that Jackson Energy Authority, an energy and services provider, headquartered in Jackson, Tennessee, has chosen ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities to manage its field service organization. Jackson Energy Authority provides electric, natural gas, propane, water, wastewater, cable TV, telephone, and Internet services to over 38,000 residences and businesses in Jackson, and parts of Madison County and surrounding counties in Tennessee.

Under the terms of the contract, Jackson Energy Authority purchased the software license and professional services from a ViryaNet strategic partner. Jackson Energy Authority intends to use ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities to improve the operational performance of its field delivery organization.

ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities will optimally schedule and dispatch Jackson Energy Authority field service technicians across their service territory, delivering a range of services that include meter "turn-on" and "turn-off" services, credit and collections, asset management, and more. ViryaNet Service Hub for Utilities will schedule these resources based on work order type, location, skill sets, work order tasks, parts required, and other Jackson Energy Authority business requirements.
