Southborough, Mass. - February 18, 2002 - ViryaNet (NASDAQ: VRYA), a leading provider of wireless and Web-based software applications that improve service delivery, today announced that Switch and Data, the nation's leading carrier-neutral colocation provider of strategically located Convergent Network Centers for service providers, has implemented ViryaNet Service Hub.
ViryaNet's Service Hub platform, on which the Company's wireless workforce management solution operates, is designed to capitalize on the power and flexibility of the wireless Internet. ViryaNet Service Hub enables Switch and Data to manage its growing workforce, which delivers a variety of services to customers.
"With ViryaNet Service Hub, we can manage with ease the installation activities at our distributed facilities throughout the country," said Charlie Browning, vice president of operations, Switch and Data. "ViryaNet's solution is currently 'live' in our Tampa, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia locations. We will roll out the solution to our remaining 30 sites over the next few months.
Even at this stage, we can see positive results with our now streamlined service process, which formerly involved numerous hand-offs, phone calls, faxes, and meetings. The smooth implementation at Switch and Data highlights ViryaNet's strengths, not only as a leading provider of service solutions, but as a company with the ability to deliver results."
"Organizations around the world realize that automating service delivery directly impacts P&L," said Win Burke, president and CEO, ViryaNet. "Service Hub is enabling Switch and Data's field engineers to function more efficiently and, ultimately, improve customer satisfaction."
"Switch and Data is one of several 'go live' Service Hub implementations scheduled for the next several months," continued Mr. Burke. "The ViryaNet team is singularly focused on getting our customers up and running as quickly as possible so that they begin seeing the return on investment and the value of our solutions. The success of this project is also a tribute to the committed team
from Switch and Data."
