ABENTEL SELECTED VIRYANET SERVICE HUB TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND RESPONSIVENESS OF ITS FIELD SERVICE ORGANIZATION; ADOPTS E-BUSINESS MODEL

ViryaNet's Service Hub and Wireless Workforce Management Solution to Automate 2500 Field Engineers With Mobile Technology

Southborough, Mass. - March 12, 2002 - ViryaNet (NASDAQ: VRYA), a provider of integrated wireless and Web-based software applications for workforce management and the automation of field and enterprise-wide service delivery, today announced that Abentel, a subsidiary of Abengoa, located in Spain, selected ViryaNet Service Hub in Q3 2001 to increase the productivity and responsiveness of its field service organization, and deliver Internet-based, next-generation customer service.

Abengoa is an industrial and technological company, which provides solutions for sustainable development, the information and knowledge society, and the creation of infrastructures. Abentel, part of Abengoa´s Engineering and Construction business area, is focused on the engineering, planning, and construction of telecommunication networks.

Under the terms of the contract, Abentel will use ViryaNet Service Hub, which includes a state-of-the art Service Portal, an Integration Server used to unite external systems, Service Intelligence to assist Abentel's management team with the proactive operation of its business, and mService Gateway to provide mobile field workers with access to critical information.

Abentel will also use ViryaNet's Wireless Workforce Management application to schedule, dispatch, and optimize its 2500 field workers; improve its management of inventory parts and supplies; automate many of the tasks associated with contract administration and maintenance; and unite the many constituents in its service community through Web browsers, cellular telephones, personal digital assistants, and other wireless devices. With ViryaNet Service Hub, Abentel expects to increase its service revenue, improve productivity, reduce capital needs, boost customer satisfaction, and facilitate a global service organization.
