VIRYANET NAMES KEN ACCARDI VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Southborough, Mass. - November 21, 2001 - ViryaNet (NASDAQ: VRYA), a provider of solutions for wireless field service automation, today announced the promotion of Ken Accardi to Vice President of Business Solutions. Mr. Accardi, who joined ViryaNet in 2000, now focuses on consulting with customers to architect field service solutions that support their operational directives and business goals. Mr. Accardi, who has in-depth knowledge of project management, strategic planning, solution architecture, and delivery, will take on additional responsibilities for improving sales process efficiency at ViryaNet.

Prior to joining ViryaNet, Mr. Accardi served as manager of Global IT Business Development for GE Medical Systems, and formerly performed the CIO function for their $2 billion service division. In his 14-year career with GE, Mr. Accardi drove large-scale system integration projects in the United States, France, Germany, and Singapore. Mr. Accardi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Bucknell University and a Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science from Virginia Technical Institute.
