BGE HOME Will Use ViryaNet's Service Hub to Enhance Customer Service
Southborough, Mass. - October 26, 2000 - ViryaNet Inc. (Nasdaq: VRYA), a leading provider of workforce management solutions, today announced that BGE HOME, an affiliate company of the Constellation Energy Group, has selected ViryaNet's Service Hub. Service Hub will allow BGE HOME, a provider of appliance, plumbing and HVAC sales and services, to empower its consumers through Web self-service, improving the quality of customer care.
"In order to keep up with the demands of our rapidly growing home service and appliance business, we needed to modernize and improve our ability to service our customers and change our behind-the-scenes operations process," stated Jack Bode, vice president of information technology at BGE HOME. "ViryaNet's solution moves our software off the mainframe and onto the Internet, which not only
lowers operating costs but also enables us to modify and extend the use of the product as our business evolves. We chose ViryaNet because they responded to our needs and supplied us with products that can improve our service organization and provide us with clear measurements of the status of our operations. We will also be able to enhance other important systems such as inventory control, workforce management, and advanced scheduling that we will need in the future."
With ViryaNet's Service Hub, BGE HOME will offer information online, allowing its employees to view warranties for appliances and home mechanical systems that are sold and serviced through BGE HOME. In the future, customers will be able to receive automatic notification of warranty renewals, select new service offerings, and research prices for appliances they wish to purchase. In addition, Service Hub
will enable BGE HOME to perform data analysis that will allow the company to better understand consumer needs, thus optimizing operations, improving service programs and increasing the efficiency of the customer service department to boost customer satisfaction.
"We believe that BGE HOME understands that serving customers successfully is the key to customer retention and business expansion," stated Samuel HaCohen, chairman and CEO, ViryaNet. "ViryaNet is happy to play a part in the continuing development of BGE HOME."
