Memy Ish-Shalom Rejoins Company as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations
SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. - November 1, 2000 - ViryaNet (NASDAQ: VRYA) today announced that its board of directors has appointed Win Burke, formerly senior vice president of worldwide marketing and business development, to the position of president and chief operating officer. Current president and COO Ethan Allen is leaving the Company to pursue other opportunities.
Mr. Burke has extensive experience in sales, marketing, research and development, and operations. Prior to joining ViryaNet in 1999, he held executive and senior management positions in a number of companies in the computer industry, including ViewSoft, Gentia Software, and Oberon Software.
The Company also announced that Memy Ish-Shalom, who held a number of positions at ViryaNet prior to joining Amdocs Inc., is returning to become executive vice president of worldwide operations. Mr. Ish-Shalom will be responsible for all research and development and professional services activities for ViryaNet.
